Our main goal for the computer literacy program is to allow more individuals access to a place where the basics are taught. As we continue to become more technologically advanced individuals need to be able to use computers and various applications. Our primary goal is to teach the basics that would allow participants the ease to be independent and comfortable filling out documents as well as creating resumes. These are vital life skills that everyone needs to know to be successful in their life. By teaching these skills, we enable participants to fill out applications without the fear of doing it wrong and the ability to do it on their own. Also, by teaching resume creation, they can now apply for jobs and contribute to society.
Canadian Zalmi Society is a local nonprofit organization; we are starting a sports program for Kids and Youth that can help kids and youth aged 8 to 16 years. This program will consist of different sports like cricket, soccer, tennis and basketball. Sports programs are an excellent opportunity for the kids and youth of our community.
Food distribution is the newest initiative of the Canadian Zalmi Society. Created primarily to lighten the struggle many Calgarian families are facing during the pandemic. Through the support of our donors and the aide of our volunteers, we were able to donate over three hundred boxes (more than fifty thousand pounds) to families and organizations around Calgary. The boxes vary based on the availability of products but primarily include detergent, cleaning supplies, food and household items. As we continue to work to collaborate with more donors, we will continue to offer this program.
